You can download latest Wordpress version from wordpress.org. If you don't know what Wordpress is or have some difficulties with Wordpress installation, you can try to contact your service provider support.

After you've installed WordPress and when everything is working fine as it should you need to go over some settings, just to make sure your wordpress is working without any problems.

Should you have any questions that are beyond the scope of this help file, please you can submit a support ticket. (guest ticket available)

When creating a support ticket, try to explain as clearly as you can the issue you are having and what you were trying to do when the problem occurred.

1. WordPress direct install - This is probably the simplest way for most users. Here are the steps you need to take:

Login to WordPress admin

Go to admin panel > Appearance > Themes > Add New > Search Themes

Write Boat Dealer and click enter.

Click over the Install button over Boat Dealer Image

After that, click over Activate.

Just that. your theme is installed.

or

2. Install a Theme by using Upload Method from WordPress Admin

Start by downloading the .zip file of the theme.

Next login to your WordPress admin area and click on Appearance » Themes.

You will be prompted to choose the zip file that you downloaded earlier. Select the file and click Install Now.

Once your theme is installed, you will see a success message along with the link to activate and preview the theme.

3. FTP upload - If you wish to install via FTP, here are the steps you need to take:

After download from wordpress site, unzip the file boatdealer.1.xx.zip

Using FTP client, for example filezilla, (filezilla) login to the server where your WordPress website is hosted

Using FTP client, navigate to the /wp-content/themes/ directory under your WordPress website's root directory

Using FTP client, upload the boatdealer directory to themes directory on remote server

 4. Activate the theme - Go to Appearence, Themes and activate your theme.

Now the boat dealer theme is ready to use.

Re-Install

If something goes wrong during an update, don't panic. You can always do the following without losing any data and settings:

• Deactivate and delete currently installed Boat Dealer Theme

• Install the latest version again

After activate the theme, show up  a warning asking you to install the recommended plugins (included Boat Dealer Plugin). Installing these is very easy - you just need to click 'Begin installing plugins' and you will be redirected to the plugin installation page where you can install them. After install, you can activate them at the same place.

Please, read Install all Required Plugins section before this one.

You need this free plugins installed and activated:

Installing the free version of the “Boat Dealer plugin” can be done:

1) By searching for “Boat Dealer” via the “Plugins > Add New” screen in your WordPress dashboard;
or
2) Download the plugin via WordPress.org and Upload the ZIP file through the ‘Plugins > Add New > Upload’ screen in your WordPress dashboard. Then, activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
or
3) By FTP, extract the zip file and just drop the contents in the wp-content/plugins/ directory of your WordPress installation.

Then activate the Plugin from Plugins page.

This Theme includes the Demo Data which allows you to upload the demo content to your site to help you get started with the Theme.  This step is optional. 

Note: We do not recommend this if you have existing content in your WordPress installation, as it will add numerous posts, pages, media and more to your site.

When you import the demo content and click the import button more than once, you will get duplicated content. To get rid of the duplicated content you can install the WP Reset Plugin. Be careful as this plugin will reset the complete database with all your pages, posts, menus, widgets, theme options & settings.

Don't forget to install and activate all plugins before run the demo import.

After the Installation and activation of the theme, go to Appearance > Demo Import, click over Import Demo Data.

Be aware that downloading Demo Content may take a while, depending on the speed of your server!

After finish to install demo data, we suggest to you desactivate the plugin One Click Demo Import.

If you wish to remove the demo content after installing it, you could use a solution such as the WordPress Reset plugin. Note: Using this plugin will delete ALL content within your WordPress installation. So use this plugin at your own risk.

Once you have created your home page, you need to select it to show up as the home page. To do this, follow the steps below.

After create the some pages, you can create the menu.

Go to Dashboard  Appearence => Customize  => Customize  => Lay Out and select at Menus Enabled section if you want vertical or horizontal menus.

After that, go  to Dashboard  Appearence => Customize  => Menus and setup the menu.

You can also setup the social menu (under the left main menu  in our demo). (mark as Social Links Menu)

WordPress Widgets add content and features to your Sidebar and Footer. 

We have this widget areas available:

1. Sidebar
2. First Footer (left)
3. Second Footer (center)
4. Third Footer (Right)

• Just go to Appearence, Widgets.
• Choose a Widget and drag it to the place where you wish it to appear. 
• Once you dropped the widget to widget areas, WordPress automatically updates the Theme and it will appear in its area.

To setup Search Boats widget:

Drag and Drop Search Boats Widget to Primary Widget Area (Sidebar).

Fill Out the Title (Search Boats) and click SAVE.

To Setup Recent Boats:

Drag and Drop Recent Boats Widget to Primary Widget Area (Sidebar).

Fill Out the Number of Boats to show and click SAVE.

To Setup Featured Boats:

Drag and Drop Featured Boats Widget to Primary Widget Area (Sidebar).

Fill Out the Number of Boats to show and click SAVE.

To load your logo (240px  X  200px):

1. Go to to Appearence
2. Customize
3. Settings
4. Site Identity
5. Choose Logo Image
6. Upload (from your computer)
7. Save

To setup your Show Room page:

1. Go to Dashboard
2. Pages
3. All Pages
4. Choose (or create) the Show Room Page
5. Paste this shortcode:    [boat_dealer]
6. Save

Boat Dealer Theme has an advanced panel that is loaded with options.

Go to Appearance > Customize and take a look. We've organized them into logical sets and have given  descriptions for items that need it, most things are self explanatory. Be sure to hit Save Changes to save your settings once you are done.

Dashboard -> Boats For Sale -> Settings

Go to Appearence => Customize => Customize => Background Image

Choose a background image.

Then, click SAVE & PUBLISH.

Appearence => Customize => Colors

You can chose:

• Base Color Scheme (Black, white and 5 more colors ...)
• Customize Header and Sidebar colors
• Customize menu text color
  
  

Click SAVE

You can enable top navigation menu at: Appearence=>Customize=>Customize=>Lay Out

Just check and click SAVE & PUBLISH

After that, you can go to Appearence=>Customize=>Customize=>Top Navigation Design

and you can choose colors, font size, margin and so on.

When the setup is completed, click SAVE & PUBLISH.

You can choose the mobile navigation color here:

Appearence => Customize => Mobile Navigation

Dashboard => Boats For Sale => Settings

Go to Boat Settings tab and choose your currency, metric system etc...

At your dashboard, click Boats For Sale to:

• View all your boats
• Add a New One
• Edit Boats
• Remove Boats

To manage the Models, go to your dashboard. 

You can:

 View all models

1. Add a New One
2. Edit Models
3. Remove Models

For Example

• Sport
• Fishing
• and so on

To manage the features, at your dashboard, Boats for Sale, click Features, then, you can:

1. See all Features
2. Edit Features
3. Remove Features
4. Add a New One.

Some Features, for example:

1. Cabin
2. BathRoom
3. Bar
4. Barbecue

We use the Meta Slider Plugin to create slider.

After install all plugins, you can see the Meta Slider voice at your dashboard.

Creating slideshows with Meta Slider is fast and easy. Simply select images from your WordPress Media Library, drag and drop them into place, set slide captions, links and SEO fields all from one page. You can choose from 4 different slideshow types (Flex Slider, Nivo Slider, Responsive Slides & Coin Slider) and use the provided shortcode or template include to easily embed slideshows in your site.

If you need help to create your slider, check their on line documentation.

We do not provide support for plugins. If you have questions on plugins we recommend directing your questions to the plugin authors.

Comments are enabled on WordPress posts and pages by default. You can change the default for new posts or pages, as well as enable/disable comments on posts or pages you’ve already published.

You can change the defaults for new posts or pages on the Settings -> Discussion screen.

To hide comments on the specific page go to “WP-admin > Pages” and click the “quick edit” link. You will see the “Allow Comments” checkbox (fig. 1):

You can do the same in the Page/Post Adding/Editing interface. Simply check the “Discussion” checkbox in Screen Option – corresponding “Discussion” box will appear (fig. 2):

The Left Sidebar contain the logo,  the Vertical Left Menu  (Primary Menu), the secondary menu (social menu) and the main widget area.

You can upload the logo at Site Identity section. You can enable the menus at Lay Out Section, manage the Menu at Menu Section  and manage the widget areas at Widget Section (Appearence -> Customize).

Set your Permalinks to PostName, to get your pagination working at your Shoow Room (Boats Page)

1. Follow this steps:
2. Dashboard Settings
3. Permalinks Settings
4. Choose Post Name
5. Click Save Changes

To create a child theme, follow this steps:

This is optional and for advanced users.

1. Go to theme’s directory (usually wp-content/themes/) , find the folder boatdealer,  and open it.

You can do it with any FTP programs, like filezilla.

2.  Move the folder
boatdealer-child
to outside the boatdealer folder

I mean, to the same folder where you can find all themes.

3. Then, go to your site
Dashboard => Appearance => Themes
and activate the boatdealer child theme.

Now, you should see Active: boatdealer Child

Remember to do one back up of the theme and child theme folders before begin to make modifications.

Please, remember: Our support finish after you install the child theme and it is working fine without modifications. We can’t give support to theme customizations.

Now, you can make changes at your new style.css (at boatdealer-child folder)

We suggest to use Free ShortCodes Ultimate Plugin to give you shortcodes in our free theme.

With this plugin you can easily create tabs, buttons, boxes, different sliders, responsive videos and much, much more. Using Shortcodes Ultimate you can quickly and easily retrieve premium themes features and display it on your site.
